Is counselling for me?
I guess you won’t know unless you try! For some people the idea of sitting down and talking about their feelings feels similar to going to the dentist – painful and expensive. For others the idea of being able to bounce ideas and understandings off another person can be liberating. The truth is any time we try something new it can bring up feelings of fear and uncertainty. Change is created the moment you decide you want or need things to be different and doing this type of work is great platform to facilitate that change process. Contact me for more information.
What can I expect in the first session?
A safe environment, no ‘fluff’ just honest, authentic conversations. When working with someone it is important for them to walk away feeling understood and optimistic about the possibility of change. The first session will look at creating a joint understanding of your current stressors, understanding where you are currently and where you would like to be.
Do I need a referral before booking in an appointment?
No, you do not need a referral.
Can I see a Social Worker without a referral from a GP?
